Health Counseling
Everyone has unique nutritional needs. So when the experts say “dairy is good for you” or “fat is unhealthy,” it’s too much of a generalization. One person’s food is another person’s poison. That’s why fad diets don’t work in the long run. We’ll work together to determine your dietary needs, taking into account your age, health, activity level, blood type, metabolic rate, and personal preferences.
Health coaching focuses on a holistic approach to wellness and prevention of disease and helps you understand how all areas of your life are connected. Stress and lack of sleep have a huge impact on the food choices you make, and the food choices you make can affect your energy levels and cravings. Many people also have allergies to foods without knowing it.
Most dietitians dwell on calories, carbs, fats, proteins, restrictions, and lists of good and bad foods. But calculating calories and nutrients is time consuming and takes all the fun out of eating. Besides, diets that focus on deprivation don’t work. I’ll work with you to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible and fun. We’ll develop a plan that’s free of denial and discipline, making it easy to form lifelong habits for good health.
